Today marks ten days in on my Tamoxifen at 20mg and I am happy to report that at this time, I am seeing no side effects. My skin feels a bit dehydrated but that could also be due to several other factors. They could still surface in another few weeks, but I am optimistic this will be tolerable.

But let’s shift gears to another topic. Iodine. I have spent some time researching the role of iodine the context of overall health and breast cancer. There is emerging evidence that iodine deficiency may increase the risk of developing fibrocystic breast disease or breast cancer. Iodine deficient tissue has an increased sensitivity to estrogen. The Japanese population has lower breast cancer rates, which some attribute to their high dietary iodine in seafood, seaweed, etc.

You can increase your iodine levels with seafood, iodized salt, eggs, potatoes, and some dairy. The daily recommended dose is 150 mcg/day. As always, I do my own research, but am obviously not a medical provider so do consult your doctor before making any decisions on iodine supplementation.

For a non medical nugget today, I have to advise that anyone looking for a comfy casual outfit for lounging, flying or dressed up for a nice outing, look no more. This two piece outfit is by far the comfiest thing I have worn that I bought it in multiple colors.
