This is a short post today. Things have been a bit overwhelming with work and planning for surgery. The path from diagnosis to treatment, and ultimately to cure feels like you are running the 300m Hurdle event over and over again. You find yourself stutter stepping between tests, waiting on results, clearing each hurdle and the next and the next over the course of weeks and months. My MRI results came back quickly, and although my doctor has not called to confirm yet, my read on the results is all positive. No sign of any additional malignancies on either side or in the lymph nodes and the tumor has not grown since the initial detection in February. They will still do the lymph node biopsy during surgery to ensure there is no microscopic disease present, but for now, all paths still lead to lumpectomy. The genetic testing for the BRCA gene is still pending and I hope to have that back early next week. For now, I cleared the first bend hurdles with no shin hits.
My day was definitely brightened today when I found these gorgeous flowers on my porch from my dear friends Bill and Karie. I have been so blessed with a ton of support from the people in our lives in all areas of our life.
